Diagnosed With Diabetes
Being diagnosed with diabetes can be a bit of a jolt, but it is not a debilitating disease, if managed properly. It is important to gain some personal education on diabetes, and in doing so, it becomes obvious that there are solutions towards alleviating the effects of diabetes.

Hi, and welcome to “Diagnosed with Diabetes”.
If a diagnosis of Diabetes has recently happened to you, or a loved one, right now you may be feeling rather lost and isolated. Please don’t. Millions of your fellow humans have had the same news from the doctor and survived, and many have even thrived!
Personally, I was given the news 20 years ago and I can honestly say that the last 20 years have been good to me. I feel terrific. I now exercise more, have lost around 8 kgs, and look forward to each new day. My Diabetes diagnoses was actually a blessing in disguise as it made me take a long hard look at my lifestyle and make several dramatic changes, including giving up smoking, changing my dietary intake, and getting serious about regular exercise.
I hope to be able to offer you direction and support towards making the positive changes relatively easily, by providing information, current research, expert opinion and suggestions, and most importantly, good old-fashioned “horse sense”, combined with the experience of 20 years “in the field”. I aim to not be too technical, but to offer sound and practical information. The experience and research I have done over the years is compiled for your benefit.
Diabeties is a “lifestyle” disease, caused by our failure to provide our bodies with the food and exercise that it needs for healthy and optimum performance, growth and repair.

STEP 1 - Do Not Panic
There is no need to be fearful. Diabetes is not a death sentence. It is an opportunity to alter your course on life’s highway.
Diabetes that is not controlled, or poorly controlled, can cause rather debilitating diseases including blindness, nerve damange, kidney failure, sores that will not heal, leg amputations, erectile dysfunctions and can lead to coma and death at the extreme. Not good! So make the decision now to absorb this easy to read information, from decades of research and experience, and proceed to make the changes to your lifestyle, even slowly, with the sole purpose in mind -
“I WILL NOT LET DIABETES RULE MY LIFE. i AM MASTER OF MY OWN DESTINY. MY HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE IS IN MY OWN HANDS.”
In Wellness,
Merv Matthews.
